HUMBLE BEGINNINGS & FAMILY LEGACY

Juan Carlos Alvarez founded Carlos Floral in 2001. Carlos's entrepreneurial adventure begins in the small town of Santa Anita, which is located approximately thirty minutes away from Guadalajara, Jalisco. As one of nine children, he was expected to contribute & provide for his family. At the young age of 4 he began working the fields harvesting potatoes, corn, peanuts, & other crops. In 1976, due to high unemployment & mass economic unrest in Mexico, Carlos emigrated to the U.S. seeking the American Dream. He had no formal schooling and didn't speak English, so the odds were definitely against him. However, Carlos was offered a job at a floral shop and started working in greenhouses. The floral industry was such a natural fit to him. To improve his communication skills, he began taking English and Dale Carnegie training classes at night. He had found his passion. In 1990, along with his father Silvino Alvarez, they opened up a flower stand with their very own cultivated flowers, which led to the establishment of Carlos Floral in 2001.

The roots of Carlos Floral is family. Carlos Floral is still being built upon today by him, his wife and business partner Linda Alvarez, his son Andres Alvarez, and his daughter Linda Miller. We have evolved from a small flower stand to a year-round business that ships across the US. Our family takes pride in producing the finest quality flowers at a fair price!
